Join us to celebrate National Poetry with a workshop on blackout poetry.

We'll being using bird books from the Riverlands library as sources of text for our poems (no books will be harmed during the workshop).

Blackout poems use words and phrases already written on a page. The creation of the poem comes from crossing out words to create new meanings. This is a fun introduction to poetry for those who need a touch of inspiration, hesitate over a blank page, or just want to try a new poetic form.

The results transform even the dullest of texts into poetic and visual artworks. No previous experience in writing or poetry is required.

All materials will be provided.
