Flight Crew: Pathways to Conservation Careers and Leadership

Launched in the summer of 2019, Flight Crew is a pathway for teens to explore careers in conservation, environmental education, and outdoor education and recreation, and gain relevant work experience in these fields.

Flight Crew is a summer conservation jobs corps. Over the course of eight weeks, Flight Crew members will complete conservation projects while exploring career opportunities and networking with professionals in the field. They will also be trained in facilitating outdoor education, mentoring youth, and first aid/CPR in preparation for our Little Creek Summer Camp where they will serve as camp counselors for three weeks.

Flight Crew expands our Center’s existing summer job offerings while bridging two of our major programs, RiverVision Leadership Project and Little Creek Summer Camp (LCSC). We hire Flight Crew teams from schools that participate in our RiverVision Leadership Project, which we have operated RiverVision since 2011. We started the Little Creek Camp in partnership with Ferguson-Florissant School District in 2016.
