Calling all nature explorers! There seems to be a change in seasons amongst us. As the leaves turn and temperatures drop, the winter months may seem like nature’s naptime. However, that is certainly not the case. Some wildlife hibernates, others migrate, or adapt to their environment! Many animal characteristics allow them to live in a variety of habitats during this time. You may not be able to spot them all at the scene, but you can gather evidence about what these critters are up to!
Get a closer look at these signs of life and join us on November 14th between 10a-12p for our Nature Investigation Trail: Signs of Life! Learn how to make careful observations of your surroundings, detect clues about the wildlife at Riverlands, and figure out who done it in our Nature Crime Scene! See you there, detective. And remember, the name’s Bon… Audubon!
Activity stations will be set up outside the Audubon Center along our trails. Between the hours of 10a-12p, volunteers and staff will passively guide activity stations. You can arrive any time in that window and jump right into the fun. We ask that visitors over 8 wear masks and maintain social distance from other groups throughout the morning. Migration Explorer Kits will be available for purchase and can be picked up during the event. To reserve your Migration Kit, visit: https://the-audubon-center-at-riverlands.square.site/...
Please note that our Center is not currently open to the public. However, restrooms are available at the picnic pavilion on Riverlands Way just down from the center. This event will be cancelled in case of rain.
