Whether you're interested in bird, photography or both, these hikes are for you! Join Audubon Center Volunteer, Paul Moffett, each Tuesday from 7:00-9:00am starting March 19 through June 18th for a Bird & Photography Hike. You do not need to be an expert. This is a great way to learn new skills and spend time with people who enjoy nature.
Each Tuesday, the group will meet at the Audubon Center at Riverlands and then walk paved trails around the Audubon Center at Riverlands. The group will also go to one of the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary “hot spots”, such as Heron Pond or Ellis Island. Some car caravanning may be required. Total walking distance will be 1-3 miles.
-What to bring: binoculars, spotting scope, camera, (don't need all items…bring what you have)
-Wear boots or heavy shoes, plus dress for weather conditions
The group will have a record keeper and enter data in ebird at end of hike, contributing important data into a global network that helps monitor bird species population and trends.
*Please note, if you bring a camera, we recommend bringing a backup battery.
