Birds of Winter at Riverlands!

Join The Audubon Center at Riverlands for the arrival of the Birds of Winter! It may be cold outside, but it's always 70 degrees inside The Audubon Center at Riverlands. Two story circular bay windows provide a 140o grand vista of the Mississippi River , where you may see eagles, trumpeter swans and other fascinating waterfowl.

Eagle and Trumpeter Swan Season Kickoff: Saturday, Jan. 3 from 10am-2pm
Join the Audubon Center at Riverlands and the city of Alton, IL for the kickoff of the eagle and swan watching season!  Activities include a live eagle meet and greet at the Alton Visitors Bureau and a live raptor at the Audubon Center.  At the Center enjoy a preview of events from the Eagle Watching Hot Spots and kid's activities.  Learn about eagle and swan watching, how to spot them, where to look and what brings the eagles and swans to Riverlands and Alton each year.  Then head to downtown Alton to see ice sculptures, more family activities and lunch.  Admission is free. 

Raptor Saturdays: January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and February 7 from 10am-2pm.  See a raptor, up close and personal!  TreeHouse Wildlife Center will be at the Center with a rehabilitated raptor. It could be an owl, hawk or falcon - stop by the Center to see who shows up! 

Eagle Watch Sundays: January 4, 11, 18, 25 and February 1 &8 from 10am-2pm.  We guarantee you'll see one eagle, up close and personal, during the eagle meet and greet with eagles from the World Bird Sanctuary. Learn about eagle watching - how to spot eagles, where to look and what brings the eagles here each winter.

Admission is free to all events!  For questions or to schedule a group, please call 636-899-0090.  Afterwards, cross the river and enjoy a warm beverage and good eats in the riverfront town of Alton, IL.
